There again stayed at a dorm at&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hostelavie.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hostelavie<\/a>&nbsp;. With a touch of Rajasthani decorations, its a fantastic place to stay.Very friendly staffs, great food, clean rooms and great view from the terrace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"869\" height=\"541\" src=\"https:\/\/demo.creaadesign.com\/somdutta_dy\/somdutta_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/dscn2119.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-552\" srcset=\"https:\/\/somduttasarkar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/dscn2119.jpg 869w, https:\/\/somduttasarkar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/dscn2119-300x187.jpg 300w, https:\/\/somduttasarkar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/dscn2119-768x478.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 869px) 100vw, 869px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Rightly known as the \u2018Blue City\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mehrangarh Fort<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reached around morning and got freshened up. The best part is the location of this hostel. The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tripadvisor.in\/Attraction_Review-g297668-d320061-Reviews-Mehrangarh_Fort-Jodhpur_Jodhpur_District_Rajasthan.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mehrangarh Fort<\/a>&nbsp;is just behind this place at a walk-able distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Few things to remember :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The walk-able road from the Jodhpur Clocktower road is quite steep so prepare accordingly and go if you are planning to walk.<\/li><li>Carry a bottle of water, cap\/hat as it can be quite hot except the winter months.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The entry charge is Rs. 150 to the Mehrangarh Fort. One of the biggest Forts in India. It\u2019s majestic beauty and magnificence cannot be simply described in words. While entering there is a small canteen with simple snacks, juices and beverages available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"869\" height=\"511\" src=\"https:\/\/demo.creaadesign.com\/somdutta_dy\/somdutta_blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/dscn2387-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-554\" srcset=\"https:\/\/somduttasarkar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/dscn2387-1.jpg 869w, https:\/\/somduttasarkar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/dscn2387-1-300x176.jpg 300w, https:\/\/somduttasarkar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/dscn2387-1-768x452.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 869px) 100vw, 869px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Majestic Mehrangarh Fort<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Performances by the locals, the hand made arts and crafts, music, everything is worth experiencing over here. The interiors and the exteriors as well have been maintained very well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The galleries, the royal court, the antiques take you back in the history giving goosebumps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Umaid Bhavan Palace<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Umaid Bhawan Palace is&nbsp;one of world\u2019s largest private residences named after Maharaja Umaid Singh. It has 347 rooms. This museum cum a luxurious hotel is visible from the Mehrangarh Fort. It\u2019s beautiful! There\u2019s a famous egg sandwich stall at the Jodhpur Market gate, which earned its place in the Lonely Planet, hence, it\u2019s name is Lone Planet Sandwich Shop. Do try out the egg butter cheese sandwich. Have some awesome pizzas and Quesadilla. It marked the end of this Jodhpur diary. However, the experience for me was quite interesting and would love to visit Rajasthan again whenever I get time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do visit places atleast once as solo traveler. It is really exciting, interesting and lots to learn for oneself for good.
